Talking & Tackling.
I’ve heard about cellphones being a problem while in classes, driving or at the movies, but during a soccer game?
My dad sent me this article and video with a note saying “something you would do?” He jokes around usually teasing me about our generation’s cellphone usage, but I have to say the situation shown in the video is outlandish. Never in my 20 years of existence (most of them spent watching sports) have I witnessed such actions.
In the video German soccer play Matthias Hilbrands ran to the sidelines during live play to have a conversation on his phone. When his opponent was near him he simply tackled the player, phone in hand, and returned to talking.
This video could potentially raise some issues dealing with cellphone usage by players during games. Hopefully for the sake of humanity that will never become an issue that has to be dealt with. The only question I want to know is who was he talking to?
I can’t believe that’s real. But it sure looks like it is.
