Bud Light Beer Commercial

I came across a Bud Light commercial that related to our discussion in class on Monday. It fits into the typical message of masculinity presented in beer commercials by displaying the stereotypes of male socialization. For instance, they show men in a group, outside, at a party enjoying themselves. The ‘woman’ (who is really a man acting as an unattractive girl) is featured as an interference with their experience. This goes into how women are portrayed as just a minor accessory to the men, and supports that the male bonding experience holds the most importance.

  1. Yeah I kinda see what you mean, Bud Light tends to target young adult males and doesn’t always treat women the right way. Like for an example, I just wrote a parody of this other bud light commercial where these guys basically leave their wives for these aliens and beer… Actually that’s how I discovered your entry lol it was automatic suggestion by wordpress 🙂
