I came across this article and thought it would be something interesting to talk about. The Penn State student body decided to make t-shirts for their upcoming white out game.  After the t-shirts came out there was some controversy about what was put on the shirt. The front of the shirt has a blue stripe down the middle and across the chest has the words “Penn State white out”. Penn state says it has received some complaints about the shirt saying that the shirt has religious connotations. A student that was interviewed for the school newspaper says he refused to buy the shirt for just that reason. Although some students are refusing to buy the shirts, they have already sold out for the game.  The creator of the shirt, Stephanie Bennis says that when she made the shirt she had no intentions of it being an issue of religion around campus. In my opinion i don’t think its that big of an issue. if you look at the shirt closely it may look like a cross but no enough to force the school ban the shirts.  I think the school is doing the right thing by not taking the shirts out of the school bookstore. If someone has an issue with a t-shirt then they aren’t being forced to wear the shirt.
