“A Racial Divide is Bridged by Hard Times”

While reading this article, I found it very interesting, surprising, but at the same time did not know whether to agree with the message it was sending, or disagree.  At first, I was shocked that racial divide was still so prevalent.  Reading about it made it that more real to me, and it was interesting to see how the recession actually brought people together, that normally would not have interacted.  One thing that I did not like was the examples used at the end of the article.  I found them to play into stereotypes and seemingly support the divide, rather than give examples that the opposite was happening.
