Intel hit with more antitrust charges in FTC suit

This is an article I found while browsing news on yahoo. It caught my attention since we’ve been studying the FTC and the FCC and what they do. The FTC is filing a lawsuit against Intel because of their illegal sales tactics. I was surprised to see such a prominent name like Intel being sued for misleading advertising. Intel is the biggest provider of computer chips out of all competing companies, so filing a lawsuit against them is pretty serious. “The FTC alleges that Intel strong-armed computer makers into exclusive deals, manipulated technical data to make its chips look more powerful than those from competitors and blocked rivals from making its chips work with Intel’s.” Since the lawsuit Intel’s stock has gone down and competing companies have gone up. It just goes to show that the FTC is a powerful organization and getting on their bad side is something to avoid in the advertising world. They can easily destroy a company’s image. I found this very interesting because I plan on going into the business of advertising.
