Social Networks help organization win $1M

Recently, Chase Bank had a contest on Facebook called Chase Community Giving. People on Facebook were able to vote for their favorite Non-profit Organizations to win $1 Million. The 5 runners up received $100,000. the winner of this contest was Invisible Children, an organization started to end Africa’s longest running war in Uganda. You can read more about the organization here: http://www.invisiblechildren.com/about/whoWeAre/. The organizations involved launched heavy campaigns to try to win the $1 Million. Whether it was constant Twitter Updates, Facebook messages, or street team e-mails, the organizations pulled out all of the stops. In this video, it is obvious how much hard work Invisible Children put into winning, and it shows how social networking has become such an integral tool for raising awareness and making a difference.
