Spike Jonze, the director of popular films such as Where the Wild Things Are and Adaptation directed a short film recently which is basically one large commercial for Absolut Vodka. This movie, title I’m Here is both being submitted for film festivals and for public sale, but is sponsored by Absolut as a marketing technique, and this idea just may work really well.

I am a fan of Spike Jonze’s films and after seeing the trailer for the film, i became very interested in seeing it because of its aesthetic beauty alone.

I went to the website to watch the movie free online. I was asked to confirm my age (must be over drinking age to watch this movie because it is sponsored by alcohol….i guess i broke the law) and then was asked if i would like to connect my facebook account to the website, which i suppose would post some sort of update, letting people know I was watching the movie. I opted out of that.

Besides that, the movies plot did not have much to do with alcohol. I don’t want to give any of the plot away, but the film is definitely worth checking out, from both an artistic point of view and a communications point of view.
