Jumping the Shark…

Prof. Koch asked our class last week if we knew what it meant to “Jump the Shark”. Prior to our discussion I had no idea that this phrase is used by fans and critics to denote the point in a television shown or movie series where the plot spins off …The storyline becomes so ridiculous that all previous quality of the show is lost. I also had no idea that this phrase actually originated after Fonzie from Happy Days literally jumped the shark in his leather- marking the moment where many people felt the show had just gone bad. For those of you who didn’t know about this phrase or its link to Fonzie – here’s the YouTube Clip of Fonzie’s ridiculous moment.
