Crazy Journalism Story
Its a long article, but the first paragraph gives you the jist…
Austrian journalist Jane Bürgermeister, who recently filed criminal charges with the FBI against the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations (UN), and several high ranking government and corporate officials concerning bioterrorism, has been fired from her job. “On Monday, I was unexpectedly fired from my job as European Correspondent of the Renewable Energy World website,” Bürgermeister writes on her blog.“Because there is reason to believe this decision was related to my filing charges alleging bioterrorism against the people of the USA and the rest of the world, and because I am entitled as a citizen to report a crime if there is credible evidence, I intend to file a lawsuit against Pennwell, a magazine,” she explains. “I have heard of other journalists fired or harassed for covering this subject.”
This article is very interesting especially because of the ending. Apparently a journalist in Austria is convinced of a plan hatched by the World Health Organization and other world leaders to wipe out a large number of Americans. She claims to have proof and has even brought charges on the organization. After this occurring, she was fired from her job according to her because of what she discovered. She was a correspondent for a European organization. The weirdest part of the story is the ending, as supposedly a mystery writer has sarcastically attacked this woman’s claims by linking them to the Michael Jackson death.
This article brought a couple things to mind, is it acceptable to fire this women after making what many would consider outrageous claims and publishing them and what led a mystery writer to make his own false report essentially mocking this writers claims. Even if this woman was fired for her allegations it makes a lot of sense as she has made very serious allegations without much proof and has published many of her opinions. The organization she works with could be harmed or made to look bad by employing her and they should have a right to terminate her employment. This lady made seriously outrageous claims that could bring negative attention to her employer.
In terms of the end twist that is just pretty funny that someone also saw her claims as ludicrous and decided to essentially mock the report she put out. This actually caused a lot of damage to the reporters cause as it highlighted just how eccentric her “findings” are.
