This video is one of the many attractions NFL players, Terrell Owens and Chad ‘Ochocinco’ Johnson have presented to the media this off-season. It all started with Chad Johnson changing his name to “Ochocinco” primarily for media attention last season. However once the 2010 season wrapped up, a whole new world began for Johnson and Owens. They each were given their own reality television shows on VH1; The Ultimate Catch and The T.O Show. This gained them more popularity around the country. They not only had their current fans base watching but it also attracted interest in many other Americans, some with no interest in sports, just addictive reality show watchers.
With the new fan base formed from their reality shows they seemed to be addicted to media attention. It was not a surprise at all that T.O signed with the Cincinnati Bengals for the 2010-2011 season. After the long, hyped up decision was made the media went crazy. Names such as the Dynamic Duo surfaced and expectations were set high.
This past Sunday the Bengals played the New England Patriots. At half-time the Patriots were up 24-3 and the T.O. Ochocinco bandwagon began to worry. The media hyped up this duo so much during the off season, making them seem to be these unstoppable players, but are they? Are they really that outstanding of players to be gaining this much attention? It is the same thing as Brett Farve but that is a whole different issue that I won’t bring up. In the end, the Bengals ending up losing by 14 points and the “dynamic duo” played a decent game.
