Toyota Prius’ with curious funnel-like cylinders on their roofs have been spotted driving around San Francisco and Los Angeles  with drivers who are not actually driving. These cars are a new project of Google in which artificial-intelligence software is used to drive itself around. It uses an array of sensors, such as radar sensors, a rotating sensor on the roof,   a rear sensor, and  a video camera,   to navigate public roads without a human driver. Technologists of these autonomous cars have a dream that they will transform society just as much as the Internet has. The engineers say the technology could double the capacity of roads by allowing cars to drive more safely while closer together and that they will be less likely to be involved in car accidents and will reduce fuel consumption. It can even be modified to the type of driver you are, whether it be aggressive or more on the cautious side. To me this sounds like something that could really make a great impact on the world. Driving has become more and more dangerous due to many factors, specifically to driving too fast. I always imagined this advance in technology and it is exciting to see that it is actually happening.
