Public USB Drives Encourages Anonymous File Sharing

leave a comment »

USB connections sticking out of public walls around New York City? Be aware, because you just may come across them walking down the street. Aram Bartholl is the man behind this new project that he calls “Dead Drops.” With these new installations, anyone will be able to plug in their flash drives and share their favorite files and information. At first I’m sure many people would be skeptical about this and wonder what exactly is the point? However, wouldn’t you be interested to find out what random information people left on the public USB? I’m not too sure this will catch on in other cities, but it sure is a creative new way for networking and for people to communicate ideas.
