3D Taking Over Reality?

In today’s world everything from movies to television seems to be produced in 3D. It’s a phenomenon that doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. In fact, Hasbro is cashing in on this three-dimensional market as well. They have produced a new iPhone and iPod accessory called My3D. My3D resembles a pair of binoculars and allows users a 3D experience on the go. It promises a 360-degree view of travel experiences, gaming and entertainment content as well.  Hasbro President and CEO Brian Goldner is very excited about this new concept, “The idea of being able to be somewhere in Los Angeles, in this 360-degree environment, to be in the shark tank, to be able to swim with the fish and chase after the fish. These are really breakthrough immersive experiences.” Hasbro is confident and has even teamed up with Dreamworks animation. They have also ventured into a forthcoming 3-D TV network backed by Discovery, Sony, and IMAX.  This idea has big potential if it catches on and is geared at both adults and children. The My3D device will be available next spring and will be priced at about thirty dollars.  I am curious to see how successful this device will actually be. I will definitely be sure to go to an Apple Store to see how it works, but I am not sure if I would actually go ahead and purchase the item. Time will just have to tell.
