AT&T worst-rated carrier

The latest Consumer Reports survey reveals that AT&T has the lowest user satisfaction of US phone carriers.  As an AT&T user, this comes as no surprise to me at all. My calls constantly drop,  I have one bar when in my living room at school, and no service in some places on campus such as the basement of Lowell Thomas.  Of course, everyone knows one of the reasons why AT&T has still been able to compete with other carriers: the Iphone.  Iphone users have been willing to put up with AT&T’s dismal service because they prefer to have the best possible phone rather than the best possible service.  I have had an Iphone for over a year, and it is easily the best phone out there.  I’ve owned a Blackberry, which is basically a glorified version of a regular phone. It’s internet browser is terrible, and BBM is the exact same thing as texting so I fail to see the benefits of that unless all of your friends have Blackberries, which could save you some money on texting.  Droids are basically the Verizon version of the Iphone, but even they fall short of the interface of the Iphone.

The point is, the Iphone has been able to keep AT&T alive, and has been a backbone for it.  Surveys have showed that Iphone users are more satisfied with their phones than other smartphone owners.  The displeasure from AT&T comes from non-smartphone owners, those who chose AT&T because of its prices rather than its service. Honestly, if it weren’t for the Iphone, I would get off of my parents family plan and switch to Verizon. There’s been talk of the Iphone coming to Verizon in the near future, but those rumors have been flying around for a few years so I’ll believe it when I see it.  My advice to those AT&T users who are unsatisfied with the carrier, get an Iphone or get Verizon.
