Monday Night Football duel
In tonight’s NFL contest, the New York Jets and the New England Patriots will duke it out for the top seed in the AFC East. Each team holds a 9-2 record; .818% winning percentage. So who has the upper hand in this game? Let’s take a closer look at both team.
I’ll start off with the New York Jets. It’s safe to say that the Jets have had a remarkably lucky season, winning games on last second touchdowns: Santonio Holmes against the Cleveland Browns. They had to sneak through their victories with OT contests. However, the NYJ did not need any luck in week 2 against the Patriots. They glided to a 28-14 victory. As for road victories for the Jets, they are currently on an 8-0 run.
Let’s not put the Patriots under the bus. They have been playing outstanding football these past couple weeks. They are coming off a 45-24 victory over Detroit and have won 25 straight home games under Tom Brady as quarterback. That statistic though doesn’t mean anything because we all know how their 2007 “perfect” season ended.
Can Mark Sanchez find last-minute magic or will Tom Brady take out the Patriots top competitor?
Who will come out on top?
“It’s the marquee game of the year,” Jets coach Rex Ryan
