Is Miley Cyrus a Lindsey in the Making?

Miley Cyrus recently has made headline news again but this time for smoking a bong. The video tape was leaked to the internet and has become a huge topic of discussion as to whether or not she is the “role model” that Disney pumped her out to be. Her lack of clothes, dating much older guys, provocative music videos, and grinding on poles were just the icing on the cake. The bong was apparently filled with an herb known as Salvia. Salvia is known to provide a brief-but-extreme hallucinatory experience when smoked. Calvina Fay, executive director of Drug Free America Foundation Inc. said that “Salvia a very powerful, mind-altering drug that makes you do very weird, sometimes psychotic things.” Calvina Fay goes on to say that in the video Miley is laughing and having a good time, which sends the wrong message that Salvia is a safe drug, but it can be very harmful. This video was taken at her 18th birthday party. The US Drug Enforcement Administration says warns that “due to salvia’s hallucinogenic effects, there is a substantial risk of injury or death as a result of impaired judgment due to disruptions of sensory and cognitive functions.” Miley Cyrus seems to be falling into the footsteps of other stars that started their career very early. Where are her parents? Oh yeah, living vicariously through her and letting her be exploited. Miley Cyrus seems to be on a slippery slope that shows her future looking similar to that of Lindsey Lohan and Britney Spears. These teen stars take enormously dangerous leaps to transition from childhood into adulthood. Not many make the jump.
