Where are all the new Christmas movies?

During the holiday season, at least, in my opinion, there’s nothing better than going out to the movies with family and friends to enjoy a great holiday movie.  Recently, there have been movies such as Jim Carrey’s “A Christmas Carol,” Vince Vaughn’s “Four Christmases,” Tom Hanks’ “The Polar Express,” and Will Ferrell’s “Elf.”  However, this holiday season, it’s going to be extremely difficult to go out to the theater to enjoy a holiday flick for one reason only: there aren’t any new holiday movies.  This year, Hollywood has taken a money-making approach to the holiday season, and has chosen to release other family-grabbing movies right around the holidays.  These include the third installment of “The Chronicles of Narnia,” the lovable “Yogi Bear,” and the fun family comedy in “Little Fockers.”  There’s also the exciting “Tron: Legacy,” the romantic superstar story in “How Do You Know,” and the Oscar buzzing “True Grit.”  Typically around the holiday season, you would see movies such as “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” or “The Santa Clause,” or even “Christmas with the Kranks,” but not this year.  Hollywood has found new ways to draw in the family audiences without the holiday spirit, which is pretty disheartening for me.  It may sound a little cheesy, but I really do love the holiday season, and would love to see a new film about the Christmas season each year.  Maybe I’m just being a greedy grinch, and Hollywood is simply struggling to come up with a Christmas tale worth telling.  Or maybe the Christmas spirit just can’t be found in Hollywood anymore, and they’re the greedy grinches out to get our money, even if it means ignoring the holiday season.  You tell me.

Anyways, I have posted below the links to the trailers of my favorite holiday movies of all time, “Home Alone” and “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.”  I don’t know what it is about these two movies, but they make me crack up every single time.  Enjoy.
