GAP’s anti-hunger campaign FEED USA has been brought under scrutiny. They were selling bags to raise money for USA school lunch programs, but the bags were made in China and not America. What is making the biggest problem is that the bags have promotional materials on them that say they are made in the USA when they are actually manufactured in China. I feel that this is a false promotion scheme. Even though they never claimed that the bags were made in the USA, the way the bags are designed and promoted make it seem that they are. The bags have American Flags and various other patriotic references that have “Made in the USA” on them, giving people the thought that they are created here in the US. One can argue why this is a huge debate. Some say it isn’t a big deal as long as it is for a good cause, some say it is a big deal. I feel that isn’t a huge deal, because it is for a good cause.
