Google’s Self-Driving Cars

leave a comment »

Google has just released footage of a test run of the self-driving car they have created. The chief engineer of the project stated, “We need them, and people want them”. It is amazing that a company that started off as a search engine has now dove into the realm of cell phones and robot cars. This car was on a closed course but multiple cars have logged 140,000 miles on the road. There have been very few incidents during those miles. One of the hopes of Google is that the car will decrease the 37,000 road deaths this year. I could not imagine giving up total control of my car anytime in the near future. Watch the video. What do you think?
